you!
Our Chippy range of garages have been designed with you, the self builder, in mind.
Based on vernacular architecture and with a choice of 17 designs to choose from,
the Chippy garages can provide open car ports, secure garages, workshops and logstores.
Modern production and machining techniques have enabled us to produce a traditional
jointed frame cost effectively, yet still utilising the age old traditional methods
of mortise and tenon joints and half lapped dove tails, all fixed using tree nails
(timber pegs) with the main frame stiffened by large curved braces.
The main posts, eaves and tie beams and curved braces are manufactured from green
oak with soleplates, studwork and rafters being of softwood. The frame is clad with
Protim treated featheredge weatherboard ex200 x 38mm; independent posts are located
on staddle stones.
All our frames are pre-assembled in our workshop at Matfield, Kent, with all joints
being cut and perfectly fitted ready for assembly by you on site. We pay close attention
to detail to ensure that everything is just right.

garages, being under 4m in height and less than 30 square metres in internal
dimensions, are top quality traditional style kit buildings and will enhance the
